  22. From time to time there  are  problems  with  hard disks
  23. that  cannot be  solved other  than with  a simple  disk 
  24. editor.  The list of  such problems is rather long: back 
  25. up  copy,  recovery of  bootsectors  as  well  as  other 
  26. important  data  areas  of  a  hard  disk,  search   and 
  27. extraction  of information  occasionally removed or lost 
  28. due to  failures,  restoration  of  computer's  up state 
  29. after  destructive  viruses'  influence,  and many other 
  30. things.  The  professional  Acronis  DiskEditor software

  34. sectors,  representing them  in the most convenient way.

  93. DiskEditor can be installed on any PC-compatible computer 
  94. with  Pentium or similar processor, 32 Mb RAM or higher, 
  95. 3.5" floppy  for booting  from diskettes or CD-ROM drive 
  96. for  installation from the compact disc, SVGA-compatible 
  97. videocard, and 800x600 monitor or better.

  100. 3.  Installation Recommendations

  103. You can run the installation  program  from the  compact 
  104. disc under  Windows and choose to either load DiskEditor 
  105. directly from the CD,  to create a bootable diskette for 
  106. it. If you choose to create a bootable diskette, Acronis 
  107. DiskEditor will not require any operating system to load.

  109. In  the  mode  of  operating  from  Windows  OS  Acronis 
  110. DiskEditor works with disks supported by your version of 
  111. Windows.  In case  of independent  work from  a bootable 
  112. diskette  or   CD-ROM  Acronis  DiskEditor   will   work 
  113. correctly  with  disks of any capacity supported by your 
  114. computer's BIOS.

  116. We strongly recommend you create a bootable diskette. In 
  117. case  of bootsector  damage  you will be able to restore 
  118. computer's up state with it.
